Tangut Ideograph-1784F

𗡏 means “fragrant” in Tangut; its Unicode label is an identifier, not a translation. Tangut writing began around 1036 as Western Xia took shape and Buddhist texts were translated; its earliest transmitted document dates to 1072. It served official, Buddhist, and secular works; writing continued after 1227, as an inscription dated 1502 shows. The script drew visual inspiration from Chinese writing, while following the earlier example of Khitan scripts.

Why does 𗡏 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
