What 𗡚 means
The Unicode label identifies the glyph; it does not translate it.
Emperor Li Yuanhao ordered the Tangut script in 1036 for the Western Xia state. Its design drew visually on Chinese writing without descending from it; earlier Khitan state scripts offered a neighboring model. It was likely meant to support a Tangut Buddhist canon—a collection of scriptures—and a distinct state identity.
Khara-Khoto manuscripts show its range: Buddhist works, Chinese classics, encyclopedias, military texts and literature translated into Tangut, alongside works translated from Tibetan or composed in Tangut.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗡚 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
