What 𗢋 means

The Unicode label identifies the sign, not its Tangut word.

A component breakdown places 𘢅 on its left and 𘧳 on its right; that layout alone does not give a reading.

When did Tangut writing begin?

It was created around 1036 CE under Western Xia’s first emperor.

After the Mongol conquest, it remained in use under Yuan and Ming rule, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Scholars rediscovered Tangut in the late 19th century and largely deciphered it in the early 20th century, with N. A. Nevskij’s work.

1

Why does 𗢋 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
