What 𗣭 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses 𗣭 as a surname. Tangut was an extinct language; ¹tshin₄ is the scholarly notation for this character’s Tangut reading, not a modern Chinese pronunciation.
Tangut script was created under the first emperor of the Western Xia state around 1036 as part of state-building. It was also used for a Tangut Buddhist canon, a collection of Buddhist scriptures. Its forms drew on Chinese writing, but 𗣭 belongs to the separate Tangut script. After the Mongol conquest, Tangut script remained in use through the Yuan and Ming periods for official, private, Buddhist, Chinese, and Tibetan texts, then became obsolete. A font without Tangut glyphs may show 𗣭 as a box.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗣭 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
