What 𗤶 means
The 12th-century Wénhǎi dictionary glosses it as “heart.”
Tangut was the language of Western Xia. Its ruler Li Yuanhao ordered the Xixia script created in 1036 as part of state-building; one aim was a Tangut collection of Buddhist scriptures. The earliest surviving Tangut document is an official paper dated 1072.
Khitan neighbors had created two scripts a century earlier; one drew heavily on Chinese. Tangut was not derived from Chinese, though Chinese models shaped its appearance and character structure.
Why does 𗤶 show as a box?
A box usually means your font or app lacks Tangut support.
Choose a font that supports Tangut. Unicode generates the formal name from the script and code point, so it does not reveal the word’s meaning.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗤶 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
