What 𗧜 means
This is the Tangut word for marrow. Scholars reconstruct its reading as lhu̱.
Tangut writing was created around 1036 under Li Yuanhao, ruler of Western Xia, to support state-building and a distinct written identity. It drew on Chinese writing principles and models from the Khitan people, and served government records and Buddhist scriptures, including translations. Use continued under Yuan and Ming rule; by the end of the Ming dynasty the script had fallen out of use. Scholars rediscovered it in the late 19th century.
