What 𗨈 means
𗨈 is a Tangut character; its label does not give its meaning.
The label “Tangut Ideograph-17A08” is a sequential identifier, not a dictionary gloss. One scholarly reconstruction places 𗨈 in the “-er” rhyme class, a label for syllables grouped by their rhyme. That helps reconstruct sound, not meaning; a Tangut dictionary and the surrounding text are needed to identify the word.
The Tangut script was created in the eleventh century for the Western Xia state's official and cultural life. Modern scholarship identifies an official document dated 1072 as the earliest transmitted example; an inscription from 1502 shows Tangut writing continued after the state fell. Its texts include Buddhist translations, law codes, and secular works.
Why is 𗨈 showing as a box?
The text may be intact even when your font lacks a Tangut glyph.
The Raycosine Tangut IME guide reports that some mobile apps fail to render selected Tangut text, while a PC with Tangut fonts can display it. Its bundled Noto Serif Tangut and Tangut Yinchuan Beta fonts also use different styles.
