What 𗬊 means
Its attested meaning depends on the surrounding Tangut text.
The Tangut name for the Uyghur people is 𗬋𗬊. A Tangut teaching book called the Golden Guide uses the name in a sentence about drinking whey; a legal contract also includes it in a Uyghur personal name.
The Tangut script was created by imperial order for Western Xia's official and cultural needs (1038–1227). Tangut writing also appears in Buddhist works. After the Mongol conquest, the Tangut language fell out of everyday use; surviving texts later made modern study possible.
What does it mean when someone sends 𗬊?
A lone character needs context before you can read it.
Ask what text or source it came from. In the documented phrase, 𗬋 comes before it to form the Uyghur name; 𗟲 after that two-character name makes the phrase “Uyghur language.” The single character should not be translated as “Uyghur.”
Why does 𗬊 look different or fail to appear?
A Tangut-capable font is needed, and fonts may draw it differently.
The selected font draws the glyph, so Tangut-capable fonts can show different designs.
A distinct form is recorded in a historical Tangut law code, so a source image may not match the shape drawn by your font.
It belongs to historical Tangut writing; a standalone send is hard to decode without context.
Do not treat the lone character as a translation for “Uyghur.”
