What 𗬉 means
Its Tangut reading comes from context, not its Unicode label.
A Tangut lexicon and the surrounding passage provide the word’s meaning.
Historical sources draw some Tangut characters differently; Unicode unifies variants when their shapes do not distinguish entries in a source.
Is 𗬉 a Chinese character?
No; it belongs to the separate Tangut script.
Created for Western Xia state-building around 1036, Tangut writing drew on Chinese and Khitan state scripts. It served official, private, and religious writing through the Yuan and Ming, then became obsolete.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗬉 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
