What 𗭉 means
The dictionary gloss is “fetters.” Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary gives this word for restraints that bind someone. L2008-3857 identifies the dictionary entry; it is not a reading of 𗭉.
The Tangut writing system was devised around 1036 for the Tangut language of the Western Xia state, and it also marked cultural and political independence. During Western Xia (1038–1227), Tangut served official writing and Buddhist texts. After the state fell, Buddhist books kept the script in use through the end of the Ming period.
A font without Tangut coverage may show a box instead of 𗭉. Fonts that support Tangut may draw its strokes differently; that changes its appearance, not its identity or gloss.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗭉 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
