What 𗭸 means
It means “lasting” or “enduring” in Tangut. Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary index gives the scholarly reconstructed reading *piej—an academic estimate of the word’s historical pronunciation—and pairs the entry with Chinese 久, glossed “long; lasting.”
The Tangut-led Western Xia state commissioned a distinct writing system for official records and translations, distinguishing its administration from the neighboring Song dynasty in China. The script was designated for government use in 1036. An official document sent to a military official in Guazhou in 1072 is the earliest surviving example. Tangut writing outlasted the state: a Tangut inscription was erected in 1502.
Historical and specialist; in a modern message, add context if you expect the other person to recognize it.
The Unicode label tangut ideograph-17b78 is a catalogue code, not a translation of 𗭸.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗭸 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
