What 𗰋 means
Tangut, in a script inspired by Chinese writing.
The Tangut script was made for the Tangut language, not derived from Chinese writing. It borrowed visual ideas and ways of joining parts from Chinese script. The Tangut court also followed nearby Khitan rulers, who had created two scripts about a century earlier; Tangut books later carried many works translated from Chinese.
