What 𗵊 means
To write Tangut and mark Western Xia state identity.
Ruler Li Yuanhao ordered it in 1036. Its design drew on Chinese character methods, but it wrote Tangut, the language of Western Xia, a kingdom in northwestern China. Officials used it for records and Buddhist texts. Writing continued after the kingdom fell in 1227, including on a stone monument dated 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗵊 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
