What 𗻬 means
It is a character in the Tangut script. The script, also known as Xixia, was created around 1036 under Western Xia's first emperor to write the Tangut language. Tangut writing appears in official, private, and religious texts; its characters resemble Chinese ideographs but belong to a distinct script.
Tangut writing continued under the Yuan and Ming after Western Xia fell to the Mongols; it was obsolete by the Ming dynasty's end. Scholars rediscovered it in the late 19th century and largely deciphered it in the early 20th. A 2025 report records two attested forms of 𗻬: Unicode's connected form and a Tangut dictionary's disconnected form of component 702, a structural piece.

1Why does 𗻬 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
