What 𗾝 means
In Tangut, 𗾝 is glossed as “to hang.”
That is a word meaning, not a standard chat reaction; if you use the character in a modern message, explain the sense in words or let the surrounding text do it.
Where does 𗾝 come from?
It belongs to the Tangut writing system used by Western Xia. The script was introduced in 1036 for the state’s official and cultural needs, and appeared in official, private, and religious texts.
𗾝 is recorded at 55.142 in the Sea of Writing, a Tangut rhyme dictionary dated 1124–31. A rhyme dictionary groups characters by sound and records their written structure, meanings, and readings. Tangut writing continued through the Yuan and Ming periods.
It is a Tangut text character from a historical script, not an emoji; it reads as writing rather than a reaction.
Sent alone, its gloss “to hang” may not make the intended meaning clear.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗾝 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
