What 𗿯 means
To write Tangut for the Western Xia state and translate Buddhist scripture. The script was introduced in 1036 under ruler Li Yuanhao. It carried Buddhist translations as well as Chinese classics, military works, and literature. Tangut writing drew on Chinese visual and character-building ideas but remained a distinct script; Khitan rulers had sponsored their own scripts a century earlier.
After Western Xia fell to the Mongols, Tangut texts continued under the Yuan and Ming; the script was obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.

Questions people ask
2Why does 𗿯 show as a box?
Your current font may lack Tangut coverage. Try a Tangut-capable font; the box is a missing-glyph fallback, not part of the character.
Does 𗿯 mean someone is stomping?
No—not by itself. A historical word does not tell you why someone used it in a modern message. Ask the sender for context.
