What 𗿰 means
Its Tangut gloss is “steps.”
Scholars reconstruct its reading as *kại², roughly “kai” with rising pitch; * marks a reconstruction and ² the tone. Created around 1036 to support Western Xia rule, the script appears in official, private, and religious texts. Surviving works include a Buddhist text collection in Tangut, translations of Chinese and Tibetan works, and native texts. A manuscript fragment probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
Tangut sources show variant glyph outlines. An outline difference alone does not mean a different character.
Historical and scholarly; a character from Tangut written texts.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗿰 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
