What 𘁣 means
𘁣 means “pillow” in Tangut. It is a written word, not a drawing of the object.
The Tangut script was created under the first Western Xia emperor around 1036 to write the Tangut language. Its square characters may look like Chinese ideographs, but Tangut is a separate script. It appears in official, private, and religious texts, including Buddhist sutras. After Western Xia fell to the Mongols, Tangut writing continued through the Yuan and Ming dynasties and was obsolete by the end of the Ming. Scholars rediscovered the script in the late 19th century; early 20th-century work by N. A. Nevskij helped decipher it.
What if someone sends 𘁣 alone?
The glyph alone does not show the sender’s intent. In a Tangut sentence, it supplies the word “pillow.” In a modern message, ask for context before reading more into it.
A historical lexical character suited to Tangut texts and scholarly discussion.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘁣 look different in different fonts?
Because Tangut sources preserve variant glyph shapes. Unicode may treat forms as one character when a source does not distinguish them, or encode them separately when a dictionary lists them as separate entries. A blank box means your font may lack this glyph.
