What 𘃼 means
It names a kind of grass. Tangut writing is also called Xixia script. This character is a word from that historical language, not a picture of a plant.
Is Tangut writing the same as Chinese?
No. Tangut is a separate script, despite its Chinese-like square characters. The Western Xia was a kingdom in northwestern China, ruled by the Tangut people. Around 1036, its court commissioned this script to write their language and signal cultural independence. Tangut writing appeared in state records, private texts, and Buddhist books. It remained in use after the kingdom fell in 1227; a surviving inscription dated 1502 shows that it outlasted the state.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘃼 show as a square?
That usually means the app’s selected or fallback font has no Tangut glyph for it. Try a font with Tangut support; the square is a missing-glyph box, not a different character.
