What 𘄦 means

Tangut sources gloss it as “bright.”

A 12th-century Tangut dictionary, the Sea of Writing, groups it with 𘛛, “the sun.” A Tangut poem uses a related character in a parallel line, where context sharpens the gloss.

Tangut is a separate script for the Tangut language. It was introduced in 1036 for Western Xia government and Buddhist texts, and survived the kingdom’s fall in 1227. Buddhist prayer pillars dated 1502 are its latest known use.

Historical and specialist: for Tangut study, old texts, or typography.

“Bright” is a gloss, not a generic sun icon.

Why does 𘄦 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
