What 𘛛 means
In Tangut, 𘛛 means “the sun.”
Tangut is a separate script, not Chinese writing, despite its similar square appearance.
Why did Xixia use Tangut writing?
To write Tangut, support Buddhist texts, and strengthen the state.
In 1036, Emperor Li Yuanhao ordered a script for the Tangut language and Buddhist texts, and to distinguish Xixia from Song China. Khara-khoto manuscripts from the 12th–early 13th century include Buddhist, translated Chinese, and secular texts.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘛛 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
