What 𘄨 means
Its dictionary gloss is “to bargain.” Li Fanwen’s 2008 dictionary gives that verb gloss. The Tangut script is distinct from Chinese writing.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 for the Western Xia language and appeared in official, private, and religious texts. It remained in use under Yuan and Ming rule, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming period.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘄨 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
