What 𘆘 means
“Near” or “close”; one index also says “evening.” 𘆘 looks Chinese but is Tangut. A Tangut–Chinese dictionary glosses it with Chinese 近 (“near”); that is a translation, not the same character.
Tangut is the script of the Tangut language. In Western Xia, schools taught it and officials used it; Buddhist and Chinese works were translated into it. Its earliest official date is 1036; Western Xia lasted 1038–1227.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘆘 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
