What 𘇿 means

It means “bone” in Tangut.

Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary glosses its entry 0578 as “bone.”

By 1036, the Western Xia court had commissioned Tangut writing for state use, partly to distinguish its culture from neighboring Song China. Tangut texts also include Buddhist translations and this entry in two reference works, Sea of Writing and Homophones.

A dictionary word from the historical Tangut script; its glyph carries no chat tone.

As of 2026, 𘇿 is Tangut text, not an emoji. Sent alone, it does not identify the sender’s intent.

1

Why does 𘇿 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
