What 𘉔 means
Its recorded Tangut sense is “to knit.”
The script was introduced around 1036 for the Western Xia (Xixia) state. Emperor Li Yuanhao is credited with ordering it, and scholar Yeli Renrong with developing it. It served administration and Buddhist translation.
A candidate for the earliest dated Tangut text is from 1070/1071. After Western Xia fell, Tangut remained in religious texts and inscriptions. A 1502 inscription is among the latest known examples. Chinese and Khitan traditions influenced the script.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘉔 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
