Tangut Ideograph 18260

4705/6136

𘉠 is a Tangut script character from the medieval Western Xia state—not an emoji. The Tangut court commissioned the script in 1036 to write the language and Buddhist scriptures and mark state identity; its design drew on Chinese writing and scripts of neighboring Khitan people, but Tangut cannot be read as Chinese. Tangut texts also included translations of Chinese works, and the script remained in use through 1502.

Why does 𘉠 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
