What 𘌪 means
It is recorded for a tree name in Tangut.
Li Fanwen's dictionary gives the reconstructed reading in Latin letters as jɨr and the Chinese gloss 柘.
Created around 1036 in Western Xia, a state in northwestern China, Tangut appeared in official, private, and religious texts. It continued after the Mongol conquest through the Yuan and Ming, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
As of 2026, Tangut is chiefly encountered in scholarly study of historical texts.
Is 𘌪 Chinese? No. It is Tangut; 柘 is the dictionary's Chinese gloss.
