What 𘏰 means
Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary glosses 𘏰 as “earthworm”; that gives its meaning, not the Tangut pronunciation.
The Tangut, or Xixia, script was created around 1036 for Western Xia state use, including Buddhist translations. Its earliest surviving document is dated 1072; a known inscription from 1502 shows that the script continued after the state fell.
Tangut writing drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions but remained a distinct script for the Tangut language.
Historical and specialist: outside a Tangut-language text, it needs a plain-language gloss.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘏰 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
