What 𘏯 means
An earthworm.
when and why was Tangut writing created?
The script was created under Western Xia’s first emperor about 1036 CE. It wrote the Tangut language for government and Buddhist texts, including translations.
It continued under Yuan and Ming rule, then became obsolete. Scholars rediscovered it in the late 19th century and largely deciphered it in the early 20th century.
Tangut characters resemble Chinese characters in their square forms, but Tangut is a separate script. Fonts may vary in stroke detail without changing the encoded character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘏯 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
