What 𘓊 means
A small number. Its dictionary gloss is “few.”
Is 𘓊 a Chinese character?
No; it is Tangut writing. Western Xia emperor Li Yuanhao commissioned the Tangut script in 1036 for official and cultural use, including a translation of the Buddhist canon (the collection of Buddhist scriptures). The script helped distinguish the state from Song China. Its forms were inspired by Chinese characters, but built for Tangut; neighboring Khitan scripts were an earlier regional precedent.
Tangut books included Buddhist scripture and Chinese works. A manuscript fragment from the ruins of Khara-Khoto probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
