What 𘓛 means
One dictionary gives “press” or “crowd.”
Li Fanwen’s index pairs 𘓛 with Chinese 擠, a word for squeezing or crowding. This cross-language translation does not make it a Chinese character.
Is 𘓛 Chinese writing?
No. It is a separate script for Tangut.
In 1036, Western Xia used Tangut writing for official correspondence; by 1038, its court had a committee for Buddhist scripture translation. Tangut characters resemble Chinese but write another language.
