What 𘓜 means
The clearest dictionary gloss is “narrow.”
Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary gives this gloss; a 1173 manuscript offers disputed readings, “month” and “above.”
The Tangut script was created about 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor to write the Tangut language. Its characters resemble Chinese writing, but it is a distinct script. Tangut appeared in official, private, and Buddhist texts, continued after Western Xia fell, and was obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
Historical dictionary gloss; manuscript readings remain disputed.
“Month” and “above” are not settled readings.
