What 𘔮 means
In Tangut, 𘔮 means “wealth.”
A specialist reference pairs it with the historical form L0981. The Unicode label 1852E is an inventory identifier, not a translation.
Tangut writing was officially implemented in 1036 for the Tangut-led Western Xia state: ruler Li Yuanhao ordered its development under Yeli Renrong. It served state-building and a Tangut Buddhist collection of sacred texts. Its characters drew on Chinese forms and ways of composing characters, but wrote Tangut, a different language; surviving texts include translations from Chinese and Tibetan.
What changed after the Tangut state fell?
The script continued, especially in Buddhist writing.
The Western Xia state fell in 1227, but Tangut documents continued under Mongol rule. A multilingual inscription from 1345 and a Buddhist pillar from 1502 show later use. Tangut writing shifted from state and literary work toward later religious monuments; the recorded meaning of 𘔮 remains “wealth.”
Historical and formal; 𘔮 belongs to Tangut writing used for government, literature, and Buddhist texts.

Questions people ask
2Is 𘔮 a Chinese character?
No. 𘔮 is Tangut, a script for the Tangut language. Tangut characters drew on Chinese forms and ways of composing characters, but they write a different language and cannot be substituted into Chinese text.
Why does 𘔮 show as a box?
The font may not cover Tangut. 𘔮 is a text character, so the app needs a font with Tangut glyphs; different fonts can draw the same encoded character differently.
