What 𘕜 means
The safest short gloss is “to follow.”
Scholars transcribe it as bju¹. Some call it a “consecutive” marker, linking a phrase to what follows in a sentence. That label describes its grammatical role, not another standalone gloss.
Why does the Tangut character label include a number?
1855C is a Unicode label, not an ancient meaning.
Tangut writing was established for Western Xia around 1037 and used in Buddhist, legal, and law-code texts. That date belongs to the script, not this glyph. A box means your font lacks Tangut coverage.
Specialist and historical; opaque in casual chat.
If someone sends 𘕜 alone, don’t assume they mean “follow me.”

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘕜 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𘕜\1855CWhy is 𘕜 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
Codes and encoding1 code points
