Tangut ideograph-185BD

𘖽 is a Tangut character in the Tangut language, not an emoji. The Xixia script, also called Tangut, was created around 1036 for Western Xia to produce Buddhist texts and distinguish the state from Song China. Later texts included Chinese translations and official, private, and religious works; Tangut writing continued after Western Xia fell in 1227. The script drew on Chinese writing and Khitan script but remained distinct.

What 𘖽 means

No; the label identifies this encoded character, not its translation. Unicode builds Tangut labels from code points, the numbers assigned to characters, so this name does not give its pronunciation or word meaning.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𘖽 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
