What 𘗃 means
It means “rust” in Tangut. Rust is the reddish coating that forms on iron or steel.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor to write Tangut, the state’s language. It served official, private, and religious texts, including Buddhist books and inscriptions. Use continued under the Yuan and Ming; two Buddhist pillars dated 1502 preserve later use.
Historical word; outside a Tangut context, label it “rust.”
