tangut ideograph-18607

Tangut Ideograph 18607

5640/6136

𘘇 is a character in Tangut (Xixia) writing, the script of the now-extinct Tangut language of Western Xia. Created in 1036 for state identity and Buddhist translation, Tangut later carried secular works, while Buddhist printing continued after the kingdom fell. It drew on Chinese writing and followed the earlier script-making of neighboring Khitan people, but remains distinct from both. The code-based Unicode label does not translate 𘘇.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
