What 𘛳 means
A Tangut dictionary gives its meaning as “happiness.”
The Tangut script was formalized for the Western Xia state in 1036. The earliest dated Tangut text to survive may be a court-case document from 1070/1071. It served government records and translations of Buddhist and Chinese texts.
Its design drew on Chinese writing and earlier Khitan state scripts, but it remained a separate system for Tangut. Tangut texts continued after Western Xia fell in 1227; the latest known inscription is dated 1502.
Historical and scholarly; its meaning depends on Tangut context.
Without Tangut context, a reader may not infer “happiness” from the glyph.
