What 𘜂 means
𘜂 is glossed as “deep black.” “ndzai” is the scholarly spelling of the Tangut word in Latin letters, not an English pronunciation guide.
The Tangut script emerged in the 11th century for the Western Xia state and Buddhist translation. A manuscript fragment from Khara-khoto probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century. Tangut writing carried laws, official documents, and literature. It drew on Chinese and Khitan models but remained distinct; 𘜂 is not Chinese writing.
𘜂 is historical Tangut writing, not a conversational emoji.
Without Tangut context, it may look decorative or like a missing glyph.
