What 𘝂 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses 𘝂 as “to cast.”
A scholarly index reconstructs its reading as dźjị, a specialist notation for its sound rather than a spelling to pronounce by English rules.
The Tangut script was completed under Emperor Li Yuanhao of Xixia in 1036 for state writing and Tangut identity. It drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions while remaining a separate script. Its texts include Buddhist works, laws, and translations of Chinese learning. The earliest transmitted evidence is a 1072 document; Tangut inscriptions survive through 1502.
