What 𘞐 means

Li Fanwen’s English index lists its entry as “surname of a tribe.” This is a brief dictionary gloss, not a full account of the name.

The Tangut script was devised around 1036 for the Western Xia state and Tangut language. It served official, private, and Buddhist writing, continued after Western Xia fell, and was obsolete by the end of Ming rule. Chinese writing influenced Tangut, but it remained a separate script from Chinese and from the neighboring Khitan and Jurchen scripts.

Why does 𘞐 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
