What 𞊡 means
It writes Toto’s plain “ee” vowel.
Toto’s breathy counterpart, 𞊢, is a separate letter, with its lower mark built in. In a Latin-letter spelling, piwɑ means “plucking” and pi̤wɑ “weaving”; the dot below i marks the breathy vowel.
Why did Toto create its own alphabet?
To write Toto’s sounds for community literacy.
Earlier Toto spellings used Bengali and Latin, which blur some vowel contrasts. Speakers chose a distinct alphabet; Dhaniram Toto shaped its letters from everyday objects or ideas named with each letter’s sound. It launched in May 2015 to support writing and reading in Toto.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𞊡 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
