What 󠄶 means
It marks a requested glyph form after a compatible character. An ideographic variation sequence pairs a selector with a Chinese, Japanese, or Korean ideograph—a written character—to preserve a documented regional or historical CJK glyph variant. The form changes, not the character’s identity or meaning.
A 2004 proposal set out the need to preserve such forms, and the Unicode Ideographic Variation Database began registering named collections in 2007. If a pairing is unsupported, the selector stays invisible and the preceding character normally remains on screen.
Technical formatting data, not a word or decorative mark.
Alone, it produces no visible space, icon, or change to the preceding character.
