What 🞈 means
In HTML, use 🞈.
Older Wingdings workflows used the £ position for ring6; outside that font, £ is the pound sign. Unicode-aware input methods need the character itself, not that font-specific key position.
What does 🞈 mean?
It is a thick hollow circle used as a typographic shape.
Webdings and Wingdings records include this form by 2008. A 2012 Unicode proposal identifies it as ring 6 in an ordered set of white circles; the number names its place in that series. It was one stroke weight in a font repertoire, carried into Unicode as a text character.
Why does 🞈 look different in another font?
The character stays the same, but the selected font draws it.
A font without support may show a replacement box or leave it blank. Fonts that support 🞈 can still draw different proportions. If the outline looks wrong, check the selected font before treating it as another character.
Technical or decorative in a font chart; in a message, it can look like an unexplained shape.

1Why does 🞈 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
