What 𐺙 means
It represents the f consonant in modern Yezidi writing.
The sound is like the first consonant in English “fine.”
Where does the Yezidi script come from?
Its surviving early texts are religious manuscripts.
The earliest known Yezidi-script examples are the religious texts Maṣḥaf Raš (“Black Scroll”) and Ktébī J̌alwe̱h (“Book of Revelation”), brought to scholarly attention in 1911. Accounts place the script’s beginnings in the 12th–13th, 13th–14th, or 17th–18th centuries; one scholarly study also considers a possible 19th-century origin.
The classical alphabet’s letter order followed a Perso-Arabic model. In 2013, the Spiritual Council of Yezidis in Georgia revived the script and adapted it for modern Kurmanji, also called Northern Kurdish. It is used for prayers, sacred books, temple inscriptions, letterhead, and heraldry.
What does 𐺙 mean when sent by itself?
Alone, it gives you one Yezidi letter, not a whole word.
A reader who knows the script will recognize a letter; someone who does not will need the surrounding word or an explanation. If you receive it alone, ask what word it belongs to.
The letter marks Yezidi-script text; the script has religious and community-identity uses.
A lone 𐺙 is one letter, not a complete message.
