What ꒻ means
It indexes a Yi syllable; it does not spell a word.
Yi dictionaries group syllables by radicals, as Han-character dictionaries do. “Lie” is the romanized label of a related Yi syllable, not the English word.
Traditional Yi texts by bimo (Yi ritual specialists) covered ritual, medicine, history, and astrology. A Liangshan standard, devised in 1974 and promulgated in 1980, supported literacy. The earliest surviving dated monument is a 1485 bronze bell; older manuscripts survive.
A lookup mark, not a message
Yi radicals serve dictionary lookup, so ꒻ is unusual in everyday messages. Alone, it is best read as a Yi-script sample or index reference.
