What ꉱ means

No; it is the Latin-letter spelling for this Yi syllable.

Nuosu Yi lexicons gloss this syllable as “cover something; put a lid on an opening.” The final t in Liangshan romanization marks its high, level tone.

Traditional Yi writing varied by region; village priests passed it down for religious, magical, medical, and historical texts. A tradition credits the ideographic script to Aki during the Tang dynasty (618–907); its oldest dated surviving example is a bronze bell inscription from 1485. The phonetic Liangshan standard was designed in 1974 and promulgated in 1980 to improve literacy; it writes one dialect, not all Yi languages.
