What ꂢ means
It writes one Liangshan Yi syllable in the low-falling tone.
Traditional Yi writing had local, mainly ideographic forms. Bimo priests (ritual specialists) passed down texts on scripture, legend, history, medicine and astrology. One origin story credits Aki with about 1,840 signs during the Tang dynasty (618–907 CE); the earliest securely dated inscription is on a Guizhou bronze bell from 1485. The Liangshan standard was devised in 1974 and promulgated in 1980; its names use a romanization from 1956. It is for the Liangshan dialect spoken by Nuosu, not every Yi variety.
It is a Yi writing character, not an emoji.

Questions people ask
1Why does ꂢ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Yi Syllables block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
