What ꎇ means
It contributes one syllable; the full Yi word carries the meaning.
Modern Liangshan Yi writing assigns one sign per syllable and grew from older forms partly modeled on Chinese characters. Priests transmitted religious, healing, magical, and family-history texts. Reported stone, pottery, bronze, and bone inscriptions point to earlier writing; paper texts are known by around 1500. From the 1950s to early 1980s, a Liangshan standard spread into official, newspaper, literary, and ritual use. Other Yi traditions may read it differently.
A lone ꎇ in a message reads as Yi text or a sample; context supplies the intent.

Questions people ask
1Why does ꎇ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
