Where did 𐄏 come from?
The first appearance of this exact sign is unknown.
Linear A, a Cretan script, is attested by the end of the nineteenth century BCE alongside the Cretan Hieroglyphic script. Linear A used whole numbers and fractions; Linear B adapted related signs for Mycenaean, an early form of Greek. Cypriot writing also had lower-number signs, but its relation to this system is uncertain.
